Yuqi Kang is a Mongol Chinese Canadian filmmaker whose work moves between the intimate and the epic. Her films confront emotional extremity with quiet restraint, traversing sacred landscapes, remote frontiers, and psychologically charged interior worlds. Trained as a painter and shaped by a documentarian’s instinct for emotional truth, she creates immersive, psychologically resonant stories drawn to the fault lines where human vulnerability meets elemental forces. Her work inhabits the space between what is spoken and what is endured, between survival and transcendence.
