Yuqi Kang is a Mongol Chinese Canadian filmmaker. Her films move between the intimate and the epic, confronting emotional extremity with quiet restraint as they traverse sacred landscapes, remote frontiers, and psychologically charged interior worlds. Trained in contemporary art with a background in painting, and shaped by a documentarian’s instinct for emotional truth, she creates immersive, psychologically resonant stories drawn to the fault lines where human vulnerability meets elemental forces. Her work inhabits the space between what is spoken and what is endured, between survival and transcendence.
