A Little Wisdom

"You can’t find happiness somewhere else. I am just gonna stay here and have fun."

See the world through the eyes of five-year-old Tibetan novice monk Hopakuli and share in his joys and sorrows as he endures the rigors of monastic life. A Little Wisdom endeavors to tell a story of children who find happiness through a simple life and the power of imagination.

“Good sons, what is the 'trace of self’?
It is that which is witnessed by the mind of sentient beings.
Good sons, when you are in good health you naturally forget about your body.
But when the body becomes sick, and you make an effort to correct the infirmity, with the
slightest application of moxibustion and acupuncture you are immediately aware of your existence as a self...”

Connie, a mentally troubled teenage international student, is kicked out by her host family on her 18th birthday. She joins a group of rural white teenagers who have recently moved from Quebec to a Jasper trailer site. In spite of their class and cultural backgrounds, Connie quickly befriends the group of three teenagers. Without any adult supervision, they are soon caught up in a lust-filled summer whirlwind of hard-partying and law-bending.
